The German government plans to shut down all nuclear reactors until 2022. Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel said the closure was a change in government policy and will be done gradually.
The idea is to make Germany as the largest industry of clean power from nuclear use. Environment Minister, Norbert Rottgen, announced this after holding talks till midnight.
Previously, many anti-nuclear protests Fukushima-related disasters that exceed the tragedy of Chernobyl. Rottgen states, now there are seven old nuclear reactor stopped operating and being inspected safety. “This decision will not change. The three nuclear plants to be closed by 2022 is a new reactor in operation prior to the Japanese earthquake,” he said.
